Dakota

"So, do I really get to stay here?"

Dakota narrowly escaped ending up in a kill shelter.
His first guardian was threatened with eviction by his landlord
for having too many cats.  He had found a home for Dakota's
littermate, but not him, and the Central Texas SPCA was
completely full.

Fortunately, he tugged at the heartstrings
of a kind CTSPCA volunteer named Maria,  who agreed to foster
him rather than have him risk his fate at a kill shelter
(the only other alternative)!

Dakota lived with Maria for a month or two until a
space opened up for him at the CTSPCA,
where we met him in December 2001.

We will always be grateful to Maria for giving our
boy such loving care and possibly saving his life!
Dakota's name was Ash at the SPCA,
and we have kept that for his middle name.
