Bailey, Cassidy,  and Gracie came to live with us as foster kittens on December 20, 2002. The plan was for them to stay with us for about a week before they were transported to another foster home in Arizona. That was the plan...

This is Bailey (formerly Lewis) on the left with his tongue out 
along with his brother Cassidy (formerly Martin) in the red collar,
and Gracie in the back. 
This is two weeks after they came to stay with us and after 
they had mostly recovered from their illness. 

They were rescued from the Austin Town Lake Animal Center where they had come in as  strays.  While they were at TLAC for a short stay they contracted a very virulent form of URI and were treated for that while at a vet's office.  Unfortunately it didn't respond to the first round of anti-biotics and they were very sick people when they came to live with us along with another adult Maine Coon who were all part of the same rescue. 
Through a week of more potent anti-biotics, nebulizer treatments and round the clock care they all pulled through. However, since they were so sick they missed their transport to Arizona and stayed with us for another couple of weeks...
 
 

On February 4, 2003 we adopted Bailey and welcomed him into our house. 
The plan was still to find homes for Gracie and Cassidy. 
That was the plan....
