Avery had limited and not particularly rewarding human contact
before he came to live with us.  But, he made himself at home
moments after he arrived.
Here he's helping Debbie hold down the laptop.
(This is 8/10/2002 the day he came to live with us)

 
Avery is not the easiest little guy to photograph.
His colors are black and black with tiny wisps of white throughout.
Here he is the little black lump nestled between two big pillows.
This is the first time in his short life that he can sleep without worrying about predators.


On August 24, 2002 Avery passed his quarantine and moved into the main house
where he was met by his new brothers.
(Sister Sierra was unimpressed and stayed out of the picture.)
Here the three big brothers line up to check out the newcomer.
It was actually pretty painless with a minimum of hissing, spitting, and posturing.
