I'm
Avery
(Avery's page 1)

Avery is a rescue kitty who came to live with us August 10,
2002.
This picture shows him on Alan's desk less than 48 hours after
he
came to stay with us.
He was in quarantine in Alan's office for two weeks before he
could
be introduced to his new siblings.

Avery was born at a construction site out in the Texas
Hill
Country and his mother disappeared and his siblings were killed by dogs
or some other animal.
Our best guess (and our vet's) is that he was 4 1/2
months
old when we got him.
He had been staying on a couple's open back porch and was
fending
for himself.
His brother was killed on that porch shortly before we got
him.

Avery's right eye has been punctured and has cloud over
it.
However, our vet says he probably has vision through it and
he's
adapted well to it.
He has no trouble catching ping-pong balls and chasing
toys.
